Richardson Highway 2/3 / Cabin experience #2

After a lovely lunch and finally seeing a moose – not a real one – I continued north towards Fairbanks- going through a lot of remote wilderness and subsistence hunting area.

So when I woke up it was freezing again but I was happy and made hot chocolate oat meal and hot chocolate coffee with the hot chocolate the previous tenants had left there 😻😻

Overall definitely more exiting than cabin experience #1, also left a lasting impression and all my clothes still smell of smoke and I really need to educate myself on making fires and sleeping in rooms with wood stoves … 5 stars for the experience and excitement.

There are thousands of cabins like this all over Alaska that you can reserve online for very little money (40$ / night) and the cabin sleeps 6 people. Try it if you get a chance. It’s so much fun!

The idea is that each occupant leaves it a bit nicer then they found it so someone before me left a whole box of hot chocolate and I swept the floor and left dry firewood for the next person. 🙂
