Driving day to Yoho National Park and last minute day pass to Lake Louise and Lake Moraine 🥳

August 2nd 2024

Friday started with good luck: we got a day pass for Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. Here’s how: We weren’t able to get a ticket for Lake moraine and Lake Louis because they were all booked out a year in advance. Luckily we found out that two days in advance at 7AM, last minute tickets go online. We were lucky as there’s only one ticket per time slot available.

Calvin and I both tried to reserve the early morning spot at the same time and Calvin got the ticket we wanted at 6.30 AM. 🥳🎊

This is great cause you’re not allowed to drive to either lake Louise or lake Moraine. You can either take the public parks bus with an all day pass for 20$ for two people or book a private tour with get your guide for 150$. We reserved that one just in case we wouldn’t get a last minute spot on the public parks bus and were super excited this morning that we could cancel it.

What else we saw Friday on our drive:

Dinner at Hoodoo Campground

We found a great campground next to our adventure the next day: Hoodoo Campground in Yoho National Park. We got the best spot shaded by some trees looking right at Chancellor Mountain.

Hoodoo trail
A lot of these plants were all along the trail

It was 35 degrees Celsius so we took showers every 30min and hung out under the sun shade thingy.

Our setup for the night

Since there were a lot of mosquitos, I also set up my tent.

Demoing how to sit in the tent away from mosquitoes 😀

That’s it for today.
