Denali Highway to Valdez

There are only a few highways in Alaska and Denali Highway, leading from Denali National Park / Cantwell to Paxson, is probably the prettiest one. “The Denali Highway is certainly one of the most spectacular drives in the world. Much of the route lies above timberline, so the vistas go on forever. The mountains and glaciers of the Alaska Range form a majestic backdrop, with miles of rolling tundra punctuated by shallow lakes in between.”

I’ve driven most of those highways and while they’re all beautiful, Denali Highway is the most remote and least inhabited one with incredibly vast and endless tundras and mountain ranges and glaciers.

I checked into my hotel, made dinner, cleaned up my car (which was quite the mess), did laundry in the bathtub and then took a hot bath. Ahhh the joys of shelter and running water. I appreciate these things so much more after a few days out camping. 😊 I packed my bag for my next adventure the next day and went to bed early to catch up on some sleep. 😴
