Icefield Parkway | Part 2 Rampart Creek Campground aka living with a bear

9th – 11th of August 2024

About a week ago, I got an email from Parks Canada (through whom we made the reservation) that we wouldn’t be able to stay in a soft sided tent at Rampart Creek Campground, as a young bear was toying with humans and gear on the Campground. We decided to stay there anyway but were definitely a bit nervous leading up to this. Turms of Outlet peile werd since the place was empty. When booking all the good water front spots were taken, but now we could move right next to the river 😊

We didn’t know if this was a grizzly or black bear until after we left (find out what it was at the bottom)

Since Calvin was sick, we spent the day on the campground resting – I was sitting by the water and on picnic tables by myself shaking my bear bell the entire time 🤣

Quiet time (except all the noise I made to ensure the bear would know I was there)
