This was our camp spot in Whistler the second night, again without services nestled between trees. We keep going to bed super early and waking up early, with the sun.
And right after this coffee we went to a shooting range! It’s Calvin’s first time in Canada and he wanted to do this being a fan of sports shooting in Germany. And it was scary and exciting – I was sweating – because they’re so loud. But hitting targets – and you know how competitive I can get – feels great. But the fact that these bullets can kill you made me nervous. Anyway, here are some pictures from that:
Then we started one of our longer drives on this trip to Revelstoke. En route, we stopped at Nairns Falls:
I was carrying a box of cheerios (our garbage from the van) due to a lack of a garbage can at the rest area so the kind lady we asked to take our photo offered “do you want me to hold your cheerios?” 🤪
DSLR vs iPhone 15 pro
Whether to bring my Canon EOS DSLR on this trip caused me a headache prior to departure. I’ve taken the best pictures with that camera – no phone – so far – could compare. I couldn’t decide if I would need it or if it would become a burden. I was trying to find the perfect compromise between weight x space x amazing pictures. I didn’t bring it along. My iPhone 15 Pro will have to do. So far, it’s standing the test. It might only really show much later when trying to blow the pictures up for prints.
Calvin woke up during the night and found a clear sky and amazing view of the stars, but no picture proof of that. I’ll have to look out one of these days to see it for myself. That’s it for this post. Thanks for reading.
